Parco della Musica Contemporanea Ensemble

In 1972 Frederic Rzewski put the lyrics from a letter from Sam Melville into music while he was detained in Attica. In the same years Louis Andriessen published Workers Union, symphonic Movement for variable ensmble of instruments with strong sonority. In the introductory notes we read: "Only when each individual musician plays with the idea that his single part is fundamental, the opera will be successful; just as in a political event." Directed by Tonino Battista, the PMCE - Parco della Musica Contemporanea Ensemble is formed by musicians of the contemporary European scene able to interpret and transmit the diverse and manifold richness of today's music. The project, born and raised during the different seasons of contemporary music of the Fondazione Musica per Roma at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, has developed in the form of a modular group of musicians called from time to time to perform different projects.
