Giovanni Andrea Zanon was born in Castelfranco Veneto in 1998. In the course of his musical activity he has won over 30 national and international competitions (the first at the age of four), he has performed in more than 150 concerts as a soloist in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Austria, Canada and the United States. He made his debut as a soloist, at the age of 13, with the Orchestra of La Fenice Theatre in Venice and he inaugurated the 2014 opera season of the Arena di Verona. He has received numerous mentions and awards, including that of the then President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi at the age of six; more recently, those of the Royal Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia of Spain, as well as the Embassy General of the United States in Canada award. Giovanni Andrea Zanon was elected "man of the night" at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York on the occasion of the first performance of the opera Anne Boleyn. Admitted in 2002, at the age of four, with the maximum marks and mention at the Conservatory of Padua, he will turn out to be the youngest musician admitted in the history of Italian state music institutions. He graduated from the Conservatory Benedetto Marcello of Venice with praise and honorable mention. In 2012 he received his degree at the final session of the most important international competition for young violinists, the "Wieniawski-Lipinski" in Poland, in which no Italian musician had ever managed to pass the eliminatory examination. Subsequently, he won the "National Art Prize", held by the Ministry of Universities and Scientific Research. He made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 2013, thanks to his winning of the "2013 New York International Artists Violin Competition". He was then awarded the first overall prize in one of the most prestigious international competitions in Novosibirsk, held at the State Conservatory M. I. Glinka, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, which also assigned to him, unanimously by the jury, all the special prizes envisaged and in particular that for the best performance of a composition written by a Russian composer. Also in 2013 he received the "Golden Lion" from the Veneto Region for the "artistic merits achieved abroad". On the advice of Zubin Mehta he moved to the United States to study with Pinchas Zukerman at the Manhattan School in New York where he won the selection for the violin "Master of Art" and respresented the only case in the history of the institution's admission to a postgraduate course at the age of 16. The most recent entries have seen him rewarded as best student at the Masters of the "National Arts Centre" of the University of Ottawa in Canada; he played the concert for violin and orchestra Op. 35 by P. I. Tchaikovsky at the "Lincoln Center" in New York on behalf of Manhattan School.
