Born in Turin in 1970, Antonello Manacorda attended the Conservatory in his city where he studied violin, graduating with the highest marks. Having been awarded a scholarship, he perfected himself with Herman Krebbers in Amsterdam, Eduard Shmider and Franco Gulli. He was called as Konzertmeister of the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchestra, with which he participated in numerous tours all over the world. With colleagues from the GMJO, he founded the Mahler Chamber Orchestra of which he is a violinist and vice president.
