Ismaël Margain is 24 years old, and was admitted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), in the class of the pianist Nicholas Angelich. In 2012, Ismaël won the “Prix du Public” and the third Marguerite Long Grand Prize, presented by the president of the jury, Menahem Pressler. In 2015, he played the Mozart concerto n° 23, in a televised performance as part of the Victoires de la Musique festival and competition, where he was recognised in the Instrumental Soloist Discovery category. Ismael Margain is winner of the prize of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. His first solo album, dedicated to Schubert, will be released in early 2017. His great interest in chamber music, shared with his friend Guillaume Bellom, lead them into joining various ensembles such as those performing at the Deauville Festival of Music. They play piano four-hands together and have recorded two discs, dedicated to Mozart and Shubert, under the label Aparte/Harmonia Mundi.
